Camden County Pride in Publice Education - Working, Improving, Achieving

Friday, April 16, 2010 is the official day to celebrate the achievements of the public schools in Camden County.  We ask the Camden County Superintendent of Schools to declare this Pride in Public Education Day.  This is one way to support the teachers and support staff in the many and varied ways each student’s learning is experienced.  This is “Show Time.”

The Camden County Council of Education Associations, 51 in number, share projects, demonstrations, performing and visual art accomplishments, with the community at the Voorhees Town Center.   Both active and retired members will host the exhibits. All displays and promotional materials from our schools will be presented throughout the Voorhees Town Center. Our live performances will be held at Macy’s Court from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The Culinary Arts Students and Food Services from the Camden County Technical School will demonstrate their expertise.  Edible treats will be available for the palate. The students from Floricultural will show their talents with free samples of flower arrangements lovelier than before, and maybe we can demonstrate flossing of one’s teeth – all with the expertise of the Camden County Technical Schools students and staff.

The community of friends and parents are invited to arrive early and stay late in between shopping to see the accomplishments of all the students and the staff who work with our children throughout the school year.  Cherry Hill High School West JROTC will open the program with the Presentation of Colors followed by the School Choruses, Singers and Bands and the fine Jazz Bands from the schools in the County.

These are just highlights of the activities we look forward to sharing with the community on Friday, April 16, 2010 Pride in Public Education Day.  As you know this is a huge opportunity to publicize what is done in the Public schools that works, improves, and helps our children achieve.  We are proud to include our community in the diverse cultures through our dance, music and foods.

The Pride Committee of Camden County Council of Education asks each superintendent’s support for the staff who will present their schools’ accomplishment. This is sponsored in conjunction with the School Board and Budget Elections on April 20, 2010.
